Feast & Fayre 2026
A day for the whole village
The 2026 Feast & Fayre took place on Saturday 20 June, our traditional summer celebration bringing people together to enjoy local entertainment, arena activities, children’s races and lots of food and refreshments.
Thank you to everyone who organised, helped behind the scenes, performed, ran a stall, supported the event or simply came along—you helped create a wonderful village event, as well as helping to raise funds towards the upkeep and management of the Village Field.

Highlights of the day
Here is a snapshot of some of the best bits of the 2026 Feast and Fayre.
Arena
Kids races, Dance Fibre, Maypole Dancing and lots of space to play.
Family Activities
Hook-a-Duck, face painting, pet corner, bouncy castle and rides.
Food & Refreshments
Bar, BBQ, cakes and afternoon teas.

The Edwardian Lady
A symbol of community spirit
Up to the mid-1970s, Darrington’s summer gala was held in the Vicarage garden, on land that is now part of Beech Crescent.
In 1977, the village marked Queen Elizabeth II’s Silver Jubilee with a parade along Estcourt Road and a celebration on the Village Field. People from the village dressed in Edwardian costumes and the event’s success helped inspire an annual village celebration on the Field.
The Edwardian Lady became the symbol of Feast & Fayre—a reminder of what can grow from humble beginnings and people working together.

Feast & Fayre 2027
Saturday 19 June 2027 is confirmed for the next Feast & Fayre. Planning is expected to begin in January 2027, when the event team will review the attractions, admission, facilities, accessibility, parking and ways people can help.
