The Field

Your space in the village

Open grass, room to play and a welcoming place to enjoy the outdoors at the heart of Darrington.

Open space

Room for everyday life

The Village Field is a shared green space for the community—a place for informal play, exercise, meeting friends or simply taking a breath outdoors.

It also provides the setting for Darrington’s much-loved annual events, bringing residents and visitors together throughout the year.

Playground

A place for play and adventure

The playground sits alongside the wider green space, giving families room to combine active play with outdoor relaxation.

Ideally, children should be supervised by a responsible adult, ensuring our stars of the future are looked after appropriately for the varied weather conditions.

Practical information

Use these practical details to help plan your visit to the Village Field.

Main and secondary entrances
Main entrance: Philips Lane, Darrington, WF8 3BH
Secondary entrance: Denby Road, Darrington, WF8 3BB
Access
Every effort is made to make Darrington Village Field as accessible as possible. However, it is a field, with uneven ground and gates that close to maintain a level of security for our younger guests. Therefore, visitors are advised to take precautions when visiting and moving around the Field.
Parking
There is no parking on or around the Village Field. On-street parking is available, but please show consideration at the start and end of the school day, as it will be busier with lots of little feet around.
